I am interested in capturing the sincerity, warmth, and playfulness of illustration. I prefer to make images directly with time-honored materials such as gouache, watercolor, ink, and colored pencil to create inviting texture and atmosphere. The assignments that drive me are ones rooted in narrative (editorial essays, short stories, comics, storyboarding, character design, etc). The stories that engage me the most are always of human experiences off the beaten path or, stories of unique and kooky characters (fictional or, not!)

I volunteer my time as a graphic designer for Paws & Claws Cat Rescue (Evanston, IL).

Some of the clients I have worked with include: Cicada Magazine, Tablet Magazine, The Lifted Brow, Perfectly Acceptable Press, Hoofprint Chicago, Newcity, Narrative.ly, Collective Arts Brewing, RBW Lighting, Northern Illinois Young Farmers.

My work has been featured by: The Society of Illustrators, The Comics Beat, Best American Comics (notable 2014, 2016), Jewish Book Council, It's Nice That, Roughouse Comics Anthology, Electrocomics.
